310 alloys are an austenitic alloy of stainless steel and are often used in corrosion-resistant high-temperature applications. This alloy fulfils our desired characteristics with the presence of chromium and nickel content. This alloy is often used for low magnetic permeability and hardness in cryogenic applications. This alloy offers an in-service test for high-temperature corrosion. Grade 310 is a blend of exceptional high-temperature and good ductility and weldability properties.
The stainless steel plate of 310, 310S and 310H is an austenitic stainless steel used in high temperature applications. It is used in continuous operation at temperatures of up to 2,100 degree F. There is 25% chromium and 20% nickel in this grade, making it extremely resistant to oxidation and corrosion. The lower carbon version of the 310 plate, which is less prone to fragility and sensitization in service, is 310 stainless steel.
The high carbon version is the stainless steel plate 310H. As found in petrochemical environments, they are widely used in moderately carburizing atmospheres. For frequent liquid quenching, such grades are not recommended as they suffer from thermal shock. It is often used, due to its toughness and low magnetic permeability, in cryogenic applications.
Benefits of Stainless Steel 310 Sheets
Stainless steel sheets and plates have many advantages that fulfil the specifications of the application and exceed them. The primary benefit of these SS sheets and plates is the high resistance that enables them to be used in rigorous environments. The bright and easily maintained surface of SS sheets and plates makes these sheets and plates attractive and challenging items. Several tests are conducted to verify the strength of 310 sheets of stainless steel.
Application of Stainless Steel 310 Sheets
The Stainless Steel 310 Sheets are used in the applications that include the manufacture of cryogenic components as well as the use of cryogenic components in furnaces, specifically in the construction of burners, reclamations, doors, ventilators and pipes. As these grades of stainless steel can withstand very hot temperatures, it is also widely used in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries as well as in the food processing industry. They are also used in coal combustors, grids, piping and wind boxes for fluid bed furnaces.
The distinctive characteristics of this stainless steel plate in smelter and steel melting as well as continuous casting equipment are also used by ore and steel processing facilities. These grades, especially in catalytic recovery systems, flares, recoveries and tube hangers, are also widely used in the petroleum refining industry. This grade is used in applications for power generation; it is used in internal coal gasifiers, pulverised ad tube hangers for coal burners. The properties of this stainless steel plate are also utilised by sintering and cement plants in burners and burner shields, feeding, discharge systems and wind boxes. Another area in which these stainless steel grades are widely used in the thermal processing industry. It can be found in coverings and boxes for annealing, burner grids, doors, fans, muffles, retorts and beams for walking. These grades of SS sheet can withstand very high temperatures, thereby making it useful to a wide range of industries.
