Sangeeta Metal Corporation supplies Nickel Alloy 200 (UNS N02200) pipes and tubes to ASTM B161 and ASME SB161. The material holds 99.0% minimum nickel content and resists caustic soda, food-processing chemicals, and seawater exposure more effectively than most commercial alloys. Buyers specifying this pipe need two things before placing an order: a dimension chart that matches nominal bore to outside diameter and wall thickness, and a clear picture of what drives the price.
Nickel 200 pipe carries the UNS designation N02200 and the Werkstoff number 2.4066. Available in seamless and welded forms across round, square, coiled, and hydraulic tubing, it offers a tensile strength of 462 MPa, a yield strength of 148 MPa, and a density of 8.9 g/cm³.
Nickel 200 pipe follows the same NPS/DN sizing convention used across stainless and nickel alloy piping. The nominal bore (NB) gives a size reference in inches or millimeters; the outside diameter (OD) stays fixed for a given NB regardless of schedule, and the wall thickness increases with the schedule number. A higher schedule means a thicker wall and a higher pressure rating.
The table below lists the OD alongside wall thickness at three commonly stocked schedules: 10S, 40S, and 80S.
| NB (inch) | OD (mm) | WT Sch 10S (mm) | WT Sch 40S (mm) | WT Sch 80S (mm) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1/2" | 21.3 | 2.11 | 2.77 | 3.73 |
| 3/4" | 26.7 | 2.11 | 2.87 | 3.91 |
| 1" | 33.4 | 2.77 | 3.38 | 4.55 |
| 1.1/2" | 48.3 | 2.77 | 3.68 | 5.08 |
| 2" | 60.3 | 2.77 | 3.91 | 5.54 |
| 3" | 88.9 | 3.05 | 5.49 | 7.62 |
| 4" | 114.3 | 3.05 | 6.02 | 8.56 |
| 6" | 168.3 | 3.40 | 7.11 | 10.97 |
| 8" | 219.1 | 3.76 | 8.18 | 12.70 |
| 10" | 273.0 | 4.19 | 9.27 | 12.70 |
Sizes below 1/2 inch (1/8", 1/4", 3/8") and above 10 inches are available on the welded and fabricated side, up to 48-inch NB, though these move outside the standard schedule table and are confirmed against the specific drawing.
Two pipes with identical NB and OD can carry different wall thicknesses, and that thickness determines the weight and the pressure the pipe can hold. Schedule 10S suits low-pressure transfer lines. Schedule 40S covers general process piping. Schedule 80S enters higher-pressure service, facing wall loss from corrosion or erosion over the pipe's service life.
Ordering by schedule alone is not enough. State the NB, schedule, length type, and end preparation together, since two schedule 40S pipes at the same NB can still differ in cut length or bevel angle depending on the fabrication drawing.
Weight per meter for Nickel 200 pipe follows the standard formula for tubular sections, adjusted for the alloy's density of 8.9 g/cm³:
Applying this to Schedule 40S gives the following approximate weights:
| NB (inch) | OD (mm) | WT (mm) | Weight (kg/m) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1/2" | 21.3 | 2.77 | 1.44 |
| 3/4" | 26.7 | 2.87 | 1.91 |
| 1" | 33.4 | 3.38 | 2.84 |
| 2" | 60.3 | 3.91 | 6.17 |
| 3" | 88.9 | 5.49 | 12.81 |
| 4" | 114.3 | 6.02 | 18.23 |
| 6" | 168.3 | 7.11 | 32.05 |
| 8" | 219.1 | 8.18 | 48.25 |
| 10" | 273.0 | 9.27 | 68.37 |
These figures are theoretical weights calculated from nominal dimensions. Actual pipe weight varies within mill tolerance, typically plus or minus 5% on wall thickness, so use this table as a planning reference rather than a certified weight for a specific heat lot.
Nickel 200 pipe is used in caustic soda evaporators, sodium hydroxide transfer lines, and chlor-alkali plants, as the alloy's resistance to hot caustic solutions above 70% concentration outperforms stainless steel. Food and pharmaceutical processing lines use it for handling products where trace iron or chromium pickup from the pipe wall would affect purity. The alloy's magnetic and mechanical properties also make it suitable for parts in magnetostrictive devices and low-temperature equipment operating down to -196°C.
Because the material work-hardens under cold forming, fabricators bending or swaging Nickel 200 pipe on site should account for the reduced ductility after cold work and specify annealing where the application calls for further forming after the initial bend.
